Sardinia Region: prospects for the 2024 sports season Discovering eSport

Sardinia is preparing to write a new chapter in the history of national motoring, embracing a series of innovations that will revolutionize the automotive sports landscape thanks to the technology integrated into ACI Sport.

With the issuing of the Regional Championship Regulations by the Sardinia ACI Sport Delegation, Sardinian motorsport enthusiasts are invited to prepare for an exciting season, which marks a turning point for the Quattro Mori Region.

After a long wait, March 9th marks the beginning of a season full of events.

The 1st Night Regularity, organized by AC Sassari on the picturesque streets of the Turritan city centre, inaugurates a calendar full of events which will culminate with the prestigious Sardegna Karting Cup and Formula Challenge Riviera del Corallo, both hosted on the Pista del Corallo in Alghero. From Modern and Historic Rally races, to Uphill Speed, Slalom, Historic Car Regularity and Karting, enthusiasts will have the opportunity to try their hand at a vast range of disciplines to satisfy all their interests in motoring.

The big news for 2024 is represented by the introduction of eSports in the Regional Championships. Sardinia is at the forefront as the first Italian region to embrace this new discipline, hosting an E-Sport Championship under the aegis of ACI Sport.

The E-Sport Rally and E-Sport GT Championships, developed in collaboration with the WAC AP Racing Team ASD, will offer drivers in the virtual sector, both experts and novices, the opportunity to compete using the renowned Assetto Corsa Competizione software, both in track than with Dirt Rally 2.0 on the special rally stages.

The ACI Sport Sardegna Delegate/Trustee, Giuseppe Pirisinu, comments:

"After the success achieved in bringing back the Regional Championships of traditional disciplines, this year I decided to focus on a discipline that has long been part of the ACI Sport world. ESport represents a fundamental sector for the future, allowing enthusiasts to train and compete, both virtually and in reality, in consolidated automotive disciplines. We are proud to be the first region in Italy to propose this discipline and I thank the WAC team, the E-Sport commission and all the staff of the Sardinia Delegation for this significant milestone! We are ready for the 2024 season, and now the stage is open to all motoring enthusiasts, both real and virtual!"

The complete regulations of the Championships can be consulted on the official website of ACI Sport Sardegna ( ). This season promises to be a memorable experience for all motor sport lovers, both on real and virtual tracks.
